After working with Saville AV for nine years, we know the team understand our brief and what we’re trying to achieve from the event. The ceremony is a huge celebration, so we wanted the production to be dynamic and exciting to reflect it, and that was definitely achieved. The introduction videos in particular were a huge hit and helped share our winners’ stories with the audience.Martin Breen
Unsung heroes who have gone beyond the call of duty across Northern Ireland were celebrated at a star-studded awards bash recently, held at Crowne Plaza Belfast. For the ninth year, Saville AV was called in to provide full technical production and create inspiring video content for the Sunday Life Spirit of Northern Ireland Awards with Specsavers, which took place in April.
Broadcast on UTV and hosted by the channel’s Pamela Ballantine and Marc Mallett, the ceremony welcomed over 400 guests, including finalists, TV personalities and sport stars. Famous faces included X Factor’s Louis Walsh, Emmerdale’s Dominic Brunt, Derry Girls actress Jamie-Lee O’Donnell and Game of Thrones star Ian McElhinney who all turned out to celebrate the worthy winners, with One Direction’s Niall Horan and ITV’s Eamon Holmes sending video messages.
Working with the Spirit of Northern Ireland organisers for nearly a decade, Saville AV was approached to produce all the graphics and video content shown throughout the night. Inspirational videos were created to tell the story of each individual or group who had gone above and beyond, with an ITV news reporter heading to the Saville studio pre-show to record voiceover, which was then overlaid on the footage.
What’s more, the team provided full technical production, installing lighting, sound and a seven metre LED video wall to ensure all the amazing video content had maximum impact. On the evening, a live camera caught all the action, including the winners arriving on stage to accept their awards.
The Sunday Life Spirit of Northern Ireland Awards celebrate inspirational people in the region and recognise those who have gone above and beyond to help others. In partnership with Specsavers, the awards were first launched in 2009 and are an annual celebration which sees celebrities from the worlds of TV, sport and music pay tribute to Northern Ireland’s unsung heroes.
We’re really proud to have supported this event for so many years, particularly as it celebrates such inspirational people in Northern Ireland. Our support has evolved over the years, and we were delighted to provide a full suite of production this year, from video content and graphics right through to supplying all the kit. Creating video content pre-show is a fantastic way to engage the audience, and also ensures the presenters can focus on the winners and handing over their well-deserved awards!Sheridan Pennell
